Kick off the Summer Workshop at the Welcome Reception! Enjoy refreshments and light appetizers while networking with colleagues in an airplane hangar at the Big Rapids Roben-Hood Airport. Light background music will be provided as well as a display of airplanes. Included in the registration fee.

City of Big Rapids: Building Community through Cultural Activities
The City of Big Rapids will provide a short presentation to showcase the numerous ways the community provides cultural activities for residents. Then attendees will be taken on a tour of the community to see multiple art pieces and parks. Upon return to Ferris, attendees will have the option of touring the Jim Crow Museum of Racist Imagery.

Wine Tasting

The Mecosta County Convention Bureau will be hosting a wine tasting downtown with live jazz music.

Dinner
Location: The Blue Cow Café, 119 N. Michigan Ave, Big Rapids, MI 49307
Attendees and guests will enjoy dinner at The Blue Cow with a musical performance by Tuba Bach. Included in the registration fee.
After the Blue Cow if participants are interested in another cultural event, the City will be hosting a viewing party of Chimney Swifts. Approximately 200 birds will be fluttering around the chimney of City Hall prior to entering in for the night.

Parking and Transportation
Complimentary self-parking is available at the Holiday Inn and David L. Eisler Center on Ferris State University’s campus. It is approximately a 5-minute drive to the venue from the hotel.
While on campus, attendees are asked to park in lot 3A, which is located east of the David L. Eisler Center. No parking passes will be required during the event. Please reference the campus map for more information.
